Analyze Your Opponents and Win The Game

To have the ability to analyze and read your opponents playing patterns is the key to win the game. Most good poker players are expert when hiding their weaknesses and secrets and give off false poker tells. As a poker player, you have to watch the habits and tics of the opponents at the table.

Are you familiar with “poker tells”?

Poker Tells - "I Have a Good Hand!"
  • Acting Uninterested in a Hand While Still in It – opponent is pretending unexcited but actually he is not, he is just acting, some kind of gimmicks
  • Shaking Hands – opponent’s hand is shaking and probably got really good cards
  • Rapid Breathing – opponent is having an excellent cards
  • Sighing and Shrugging – opponent is overacting and trying to hide that he has the big cards
  • Glancing at Chips After Looking at Hole Cards – opponent is being careful on how much he can bet 


Poker Tells - "I Have a Weak Hand!"
  • Staring Down Other Players – opponent is trying to trick you that he has strong cards but actually he hasn’t
  • Holding Breath  - inexperienced opponent hold their breath if they are pretending
    Poker Tells - "I Have a Drawing Hand."
    • Checking Hole Cards After a Flop – opponent is re-checking their hole cards
    • Taking a Long Time Before Calling a Bet – opponent is doing some calculating in his head
